The Best Mac and Cheese Recipe

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup flour

1.5 cups of milk

1.5 cups of sour cream

2 and 1/2 to 3 cups of shredded mild cheddar cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Cook and drain the macaroni and pour it into a 3-quart lightly-oiled casserole dish

Pour in the shredded cheese and toss until thouroughly mixed

In a pan, over low-medium heat, melt the butter

Gradually stir in the flour until dissolved

Gradually stir in the milk

Gradually stir in the sour cream

Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and bubbles

Pour the sauce over the macaroni mixture and thoroughly stir

Bake for one hour and serve while hot
